Bayside Landing is not open yet. The project is approved and heading into construction — an opening date will be announced here once the build schedule is confirmed.
West-facing glazing frames the sandspit and the open water, which means the Sunset Room gets the entire show every clear evening.
Morro Bay's sunsets run long — the sun drops past the sandspit and the dunes, and the light comes back off the water for another twenty minutes afterwards. The Sunset Room is oriented to catch all of it, with glazing on the west elevation and a private deck positioned for exactly that hour.
Inside, warm taupe and cedar walls take the low light well, and a gold-yellow band runs the eave line, echoing the cottage's exterior trim. The vaulted Douglas fir ceiling glows toward the end of the day.
It is a quieter aspect than the harbour-facing suites, looking out over open water rather than the slips.

Common questions
What time is sunset in Morro Bay?
Roughly 5pm in midwinter and just after 8pm around the summer solstice. The light off the water stays good for about twenty minutes after the sun is down, which is the best part.
