Our Story

A new chapter on the Embarcadero

Bayside Landing replaces three tired visitor units on the Morro Bay waterfront with seven individually designed suites, a small restaurant, and a rebuilt public wharf.

The design keeps faith with what the Embarcadero actually is — a working harbour. Each suite is a single-storey cottage on the wharf, built over the water on piles, with a vaulted rafter ceiling and a band of painted colour along the eave line. No two are the same colour, and none of them pretend to be a resort.

Just as importantly, a good deal of the project is not the hotel at all. The harborwalk, the observation deck and the pocket park are public, and they stay that way.

Dining

Reggie’s Place

A 480-square-foot room on the water — about six tables, a small bar, and a wall of stained glass.

Reggie’s is deliberately small. Cedar walls, a vaulted rafter ceiling, and glazing that opens straight onto the pocket park and the bay. The stained-glass panels carry the same motifs used through the property — sailboats, kelp, the Rock.
